What to tell us

Name the iPhone model and the iOS version, say which tab you were on, and describe what you tapped and what happened next. Send no photograph of a private document and no pin. We can diagnose a fault without seeing what you keep.

Questions we are asked

I forgot my Locker Page Pin. Can you reset it?

We cannot. The pin is checked against a hash held on your iPhone, and no copy of it reaches us. Resetting the pin clears the Locker tab's contents, because the contents cannot be opened without it.

Can you recover my documents?

We cannot. The key that opens your items lives in your iPhone's Keychain and nowhere else. This is the property that makes the application worth using, and it is also the reason to keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Are my items in my iPhone backup?

They are not. ScanLocker excludes its sealed files from device backup, so an iCloud or Finder backup carries nothing from it and a restored iPhone arrives empty of them. Move your contents with the transfer in Settings before you leave a device behind.

How do I move to a new iPhone?

Install ScanLocker on the new iPhone, open Settings on both, and start the transfer with the two devices near each other. The contents cross a direct local link, sealed under a key the two phones agree for that transfer alone.

What happens when I delete the app?

Deleting ScanLocker removes every file it stored on that iPhone. The next install clears any key the previous install left in the Keychain before it saves anything new. Read Deleting your data for every other way to remove what the app holds.

How do I withdraw a permission I granted?

Open iPhone Settings, then Privacy & Security, and turn off the camera, Photos, local network, or Bluetooth permission for ScanLocker. The application asks for each one to serve a single purpose and reports nothing about its use.
