Deleting your data

ScanLocker has no account, so there is no account to delete. Everything the app holds sits on your iPhone, and you delete it there.

There is no account

ScanLocker never asks you to sign up or sign in. Zirkon LLC operates no server that holds a record of you, so there is no profile to close, no password to reset, and no request to send us before your data is gone. The steps below cover everything the application stores, and each one completes on the iPhone in front of you.

Deleting one item

Deleting a photograph on the Scan tab or an entry on the Locker tab removes its sealed file from this iPhone. No copy exists anywhere else unless you sent one out yourself.

Deleting a folder

Deleting a folder on the Scan tab removes every item in it. The app asks you to confirm first, because the contents cannot be recovered afterwards.

Deleting the Locker tab's contents

Resetting the Locker Page Pin clears every entry on the Locker tab, because those entries cannot be opened without the pin that sealed them. Deleting entries one at a time leaves the pin in place.

Deleting the app

Deleting ScanLocker from the Home Screen removes every file it stored on that iPhone. The next install of ScanLocker wipes any key the previous install left in the Keychain before it saves anything new, so a fresh install starts empty.

Backups

ScanLocker excludes its sealed files from device backup, and its keys are marked so that they never sync to iCloud. An iCloud or Finder backup therefore carries nothing from the app, and deleting an item on the iPhone deletes the only copy the app ever made.

Copies you sent out

A copy you shared through the iOS Share Sheet, saved into Photos, or transferred to another iPhone lives wherever you sent it, under that destination's rules. Delete it there. The Security tab inside the app lists the time of each share and each save so that you can find them.

What Zirkon LLC holds about you

Use of the application gives us nothing. The only personal information we ever hold is the correspondence you send to one of our published addresses. Write to contact@zirkon.services and ask, and we will delete that correspondence within 30 days and confirm that we have done so.

Deletion is permanent. The key that opens your items exists on your iPhone and nowhere else, and Zirkon LLC holds no copy of it. Once an item is deleted, neither we nor anyone else can bring it back. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
